Had a boys weekend to celebrate a couple of birthdays. This is normally student accommodation but converts to a basic hotel out of term time. The rooms are comfortable but no in room facilities like tea or coffee making; for those there is a communal kitchen/lounge area with basic facilities. Clean & tidy and ideal for our purposes. It's also very close to the city centre where there are plenty of eateries, pubs and bars etc.

It's clean and cheap accommodation in the dead centre of the city. However, beds are brutally uncomfortable (I pity the students having to spend 3-4 years in them) and not fit for tall people. What makes things worse is noise from pubs nearby and a construction site that starts drilling and banging your brains at 6AM (!). Overall, I cannot recommend it if you value your sleep and basic comfort. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
