Guest reviews
Hibernian Hotel & Leisure Centre averages 3.9 out of 5 across 1,358 reviews. A selection, quoted as written:
Disappointed in many ways with the Hibernian. Myself and my brother went for a walking holiday and stayed here, firstly we were given a double room instead of the twin we had booked. We were then downgraded to a smaller room that was dirty, had an iron burn mark on the carpet, the shower leaked and the hot water didn't work for half of our stay which disrupted our trip, staff on reception were unhelpful and rude when we asked if we could shower in another spare room. Finally I left my kindle in the room, I phoned to ask the Hib to look for it and nobody ever bothered to get back to me and the lady I spoke to sounded like she couldn't care less. The less senior bar staff however were lovely…
Bed in room 36 was sloping towards the headboard. My wife woke up choking, struggling to breath. We had to put pillows at foot of bed so our feet were then lower than our heads. The bedroom and bathroom had a sloping floor towards the door - not good for me on 2 sticks after knee replacement operation the week before. Weather at the time was hot but we could not leave bedroom window open because of a row noisy fans outside on the flat roof. On a more positive note the meal and drinks we had in the bar were excellent.
