I recently had the pleasure of staying at Elmdale House, with my 91 year old father, and my brother and SIL. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the view out any window is to die for. Matilda is a wonderful hostess! She is a wealth of information on where to go and what to do, and even the order in which to go and do! She was available any time we needed her. Breakfast was hot and hearty, a great start to each day. One evening, my SIL and I came back from a busy day and decided to sit downstairs in the living room for a bit. Lovely friendly establishment. Hosts are helpful, chatty and very kind. No coffee facilities in room, but freshly-made coffee or tea available on request.. And we were given some delicious home-made fruit cake with ours too. Our room was well looked after and extremely comfortable. Situated about 12 minutes drive from Ennis, so car required if you want to go out to eat in the evening.
Anne and Matilda were great. They made us feel right at home. The accommodations were impeccable and the room was spacious, clean and inviting. Matilda cooked an excellent breakfast including some fresh Black Pudding. Everything was spot on and I would definitely stay again.
