I treated my mum to 2 nights away for her birthday. It holds a special place in my mums heart as her parents came here 70 years ago for their honeymoon (I have attached a photo of the postcard from when they were there) The location was phenomenal, so beautiful. The staff were so attentive. From check in to check out, it was perfect. Breakfast was included in our stay, service was 10/10. I had the full Irish breakfast on the first day and the scrambled eggs and salmon on the second day. We didn’t get a chance to use the spa facilities unfortunately. This hotel offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, mainly thanks to its outstanding staff. The team is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, making the stay very pleasant. The location is fantastic, especially for nature lovers, perfect for hiking and exploring the surrounding area. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The lobby often has a noticeable firewood scent, which can sometimes be a bit too strong. While the rooms are decent, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of comfort and amenities. We stayed in a lodge. It was grand, but I wouldn’t say it was overly comfortable. Beds weren’t great and the sofa was not comfortable at all. As we had an 8 month old with us, we had to spend a lot of time in the lodge. So comfort was important. The main hotel & facilities were great, but the standout for us was the staff. They were all excellent, polite and extremely helpful. For a family break it’s probably more suited to families with older kids. Location is good, with the local village only a 5 minute drive away. The views in front of the hotel are outstanding and the multiple trails are great. They’re a nice little touch. It is quite expensive though….
