Absolutely incredible! If you are climbing, this is the perfect environment to add to the experience! We had arrived exhausted and soaked after climbing Carrountoohil to a rustic spot where we were met with small town hospitality. Immediately we were told to take off the wet trekking gear so he could hang it in the “drying room” for us. Then we were served an incredible hot meal in their restaurant and up to the room which was modern and fantastic. The whole place caters to the climber’s experience with photos around etc. Great bar on site where locals gather to chat. Just fantastic!

Love this place! I have been coming here with my family for decades so I might seem biased! Not the case! I will call out bad places with a furious verve that would make Stalin blush! The location is divine and has an alpine feel about it, not surprising considering it is at the foot of Ireland's highest range of mountains. Stayed in the rooms which were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was a great Irish fry (other options are available) and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended! GO! GO!
Great food! It is very popular so book in advance if possible. The goats cheese with the side of salad was absolutely delicious! The steak sandwhich was good and thw chowder was amazing. Very good sized portions. We didnt make it to dessert. Very cosy and welcoming spot. The staff were very friendly and chatty. They do a great pint of Guinness. The climbing and hiking decor is awesome. It is great that you can go in still dressed in your hiking gear.
