I was positively surprised - comparing other reviews with our stay. The room was clean, we did have a bin and toilet brush and got two free towels. The hallway door is pretty noisy though, but as we stayed during workdays, it wasn't a big deal at night. And the room temperature is indeed quite high, I didn't find a way to lower the thermostat, but maybe that was just me. We just had our window open, so it was fine. I'd come again.

Guest reviews
Destiny Student New Mill averages 3.3 out of 5 across 293 reviews. A selection, quoted as written:
I’ve visited my friends, and their rooms were spacious with new furniture. The common areas were cozy and generally empty, making it easy to relax there. The location is convenient, being close to the center yet in a peaceful spot. However, the cleanliness fell short of a five-star level. Overall, it's a good place.
The room itself was decent - the bed was comfortable, plenty of storage, etc. The location is also ok, takes about 20 minutes to get to city center. However, there were unfortunately a lot of negatives. Our primary complaint is the amount of noise - there is zero soundproofing, and we could hear people talking and banging doors at all hours of the night. Additionally, the shower temperature knob was jammed, making it impossible to take showers that weren't scorching hot. Finally, the wifi barely worked, and is unsuitable for any actual work.
